Most of you are aware that I spent just short of 15 years with the Riverside Police Department (and an additional 7 years with San Bernardino County Sheriff (EVOC Academy Staff) – Started my career with the RPD in Dispatch and promoted to a Police officer a few years later – Detective Mike Eveland asked if I would assist him in photographing the Police Officers Memorial statue that proudly stands in front of the downtown Orange Street Police station – - – - -Of course I gladly accepted the honor! It was a visit that took me way back in time …….so if you will allow me I will now take you back in time with me. Never in my life would I think I could take so many images of a statue, but it was both enjoyable and slightly emotional for me…….. and I could have shot all night long! In Honor of those who paid the ULTIMATE price to protect others – No words could possibly say – Thank you – I will let the images speak for the memory of the honorable men and women who gave their lives in the Line of Duty! Officer Leonard Christiansen was my fathers (Officer Barry DuGal) partner at the time of his tragic death/ambush, due to some rearrangement in the beat assignments that evening my father was not in the same unit with his partner Leonard Christiansen. Officer Leonard Christiansen’s son “Steve” is an officer today with the Riverside Police Department whom I worked beat partners with countless time in the field (a remarkable young man who surely would have made his father VERY proud) – D2 Photography Studio 1.800.278.4902
My father -Detective Barry DuGal – Me – and Deputy Cheif Figuroa
This was my graduation day from the academy
wow….what a youngster I was………..didn’t look so tough did I?
Such a fun and memorable image….
My brother “Troy DuGal” San Diego Sheriff – Now Homicide Detective (far left) dahhhhhhhhhh!
My father – Detective Barry DuGal – Riverside Police Department (middle)
and Me – Rookie – Riverside Police Department
Hey wait………….. I did receive “The Rookie of the Year Award” – Now I wonder if that is an honor or…….?
This image was a few years after my academy graduation (don’t think I was a rookie any longer)
Mike Eveland took this shot with his iPhone 4 – during my session …..not too bad Mike!
You available this weekend…we have two weddings to shoot?
July 23, 2010 - 3:59 am - Wow ... unbelieveable pictures, again Dee dee!! Our favorite is the last one with the sunset -- A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! Let's get together for lunch next week sometime -- Aldo will join us too!!
July 23, 2010 - 4:29 am - Thanks Jay.............You would think shooting a statue would be an easy task. . . not as easy as I thought it would be - but happy with the results! Would love to meet up for lunch (and see your place) Lets do it!
July 24, 2010 - 6:09 pm - Dee Dee, Those photos are awesome. I have never seen that statue quite the way you photographed it. Thank you also for the kind words about my father and I. Miss working with you. Steve C.
Inland Empire Professional Photographer and Videographers Association 3rd Print competition was a memorable evening for Tiffanie E., Tim Marman and I. We had a tough yet very fair and quite fun judging panel to impress. Nobody did it as good as Tiffanie E. did last night. Congrats to you girl – D2 Photography Studio, Wedding Photography – 1.800.278.4902
Tiffanie’s entry was a guestbook that she not only photographed but designed,
every single judge showed great appreciation for her work and awarded her appropriately with an AMAZING score of “91″ on her work
Tiffanie received “The BEST of Albums category” and “The BEST OF SHOW” award as well for this entry
Getting that sort of score and award for an album is TOUGH! Way to go Tiff!
OH…and she entered a 2nd album which received a score of 84 – that is impressive too but gets so lost behind a score of “91″
Front and back cover of her album
