Most of you are aware that I spent just short of 15 years with the Riverside Police Department (and an additional 7 years with San Bernardino County Sheriff (EVOC Academy Staff) – Started my career with the RPD in Dispatch and promoted to a Police officer a few years later – Detective Mike Eveland asked if I would assist him in photographing the Police Officers Memorial statue that proudly stands in front of the downtown Orange Street Police station – - – - -Of course I gladly accepted the honor! It was a visit that took me way back in time …….so if you will allow me I will now take you back in time with me. Never in my life would I think I could take so many images of a statue, but it was both enjoyable and slightly emotional for me…….. and I could have shot all night long! In Honor of those who paid the ULTIMATE price to protect others – No words could possibly say – Thank you – I will let the images speak for the memory of the honorable men and women who gave their lives in the Line of Duty! Officer Leonard Christiansen was my fathers (Officer Barry DuGal) partner at the time of his tragic death/ambush, due to some rearrangement in the beat assignments that evening my father was not in the same unit with his partner Leonard Christiansen. Officer Leonard Christiansen’s son “Steve” is an officer today with the Riverside Police Department whom I worked beat partners with countless time in the field (a remarkable young man who surely would have made his father VERY proud) – D2 Photography Studio 1.800.278.4902
